Fees & allowance
At F5 Foster Care we pay an allowance to care for the child, which is above the National Recommended Fostering Allowance which covers general household expenses, food, clothing, mileage, school meals and any other items or outings required to look after a foster child.
F5 also pays a fee to the Carer depending on the age of the child and the experience of the Foster carer.
Foster carers are classed as self-employed and earn a weekly allowance for each child or young person they look after.
On average, IFA’s pay a basic weekly fostering allowance and fee ranging from £200 to £300 per week. Information will be provided during the home visit which will explain allowances and tax implications in further detail.
